Congratulations to Colm O'Hagan, Group Treasurer and Cub Scout Leader on the award of his Wood Badge. Colm received the award from Provincial comissioner Jimmy Cunningham at a recent Group Council meeting.

The wood badge represents an advanced level of training in scouting and is awarded after completing several courses and a practical project. Colm joins a select list of leaders in 3rd Monaghan with the award but is due to be joined by several more in the coming months as the groups training policies come to fruition.

More details on the wood badge award and it's context in scouting cam be found in this Wikipedia article.

We left the scout hall at 6.15 got onto the bus, then started our journey to Dundalk which took 30 minutes. When we arrived we got off the bus and fell in on the public footpath and choose the film that we wanted to go to see. Our choice was THE BEE MOVIE or MR MAGORIUMS WONDER IMPORIUM. The majority chose THE BEE MOVIE .So we went in got our tickets and went upstairs to get popcorn, sweets and drinks, and then we went in to watch the movie. The movie was good but the crack was better. The story and animation was good and we probably annoyed everyone cos we kept on laughing at everything even if it wasn’t funny HA HA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and popcorn was flying and being pegged everywhere !! Even the leaders had a ball.
