Welcome to the 3rd Monaghan Scout Group Website.

Scouting in Carrickmacross celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2007 and today the group is stronger than ever. With over 200 youth members and almost 50 adult members, the group operates two beaver colonies, two cub packs, two scout groups, a venturer group and a rover group and is the 4th largest group in Scouting Ireland.

If you are visiting us for the first time, we hope you find something of interest. If you are a member of the group, a parent or other friend of the group, take the time to register to gain access to online resources such as chat forum, instant messaging, downloadable files etc. Use the menu system across the top to explore the wealth of information we have online.

Venturer camp 2005 - Crawfordsburn

ImageIt was Friday morning of the 1st of July and the camp of the century was about to begin. We all met at the scout hall at 9 o’clock, packed the gear and by 10 we were on our way. The journey took 2 and a half hours to reach the campsite which was called Crawfordsburn campsite, beside Bangor. After a day of setting up camp we had a game of volleyball. We finished the first day off with a campfire and songs.

Beavers have Halloween Fun

The Monday and Tuesday night beaver groups had some great halloween fun recently, in the build up to halloween. Fancy dress was the order of the day as the beavers all put in a great effort. Witches scary monsters, robots and plenty of blood along with princesses and even batman were seen in the scout hall.

The long awaited barge trip report

It was early Friday evening of the August bank holiday weekend and a group of hip, fun seeking youngsters gathered at the scout hall for another thrilling rover weekend away from the county of Monaghan.

Big Big Turnout At AGM!!!

There was a large turnout of parents at the recent Agm of the group. This was probably the biggest attendence that has ever attended and AGM of the group. This was a great boost for the leaders to see such a large turnout to support them in their work. A lot of important information was given on the night

AUCTION

The group Parents & Friends comittee are organising the annual fundraising auction to be held in the Catholic Hall on Sunday Nov. 12th at 2.30pm.

The following goods are sought; China, Furniture, Bicycles, Antiques, Pictures, Fuel (coal, logs etc.). No beds, large electrical goods, shoes or clothing please.
