Welcome to the 3rd Monaghan Scout Group Website.

Scouting in Carrickmacross celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2007 and today the group is stronger than ever. With over 200 youth members and almost 50 adult members, the group operates two beaver colonies, two cub packs, two scout groups, a venturer group and a rover group and is the 4th largest group in Scouting Ireland.

If you are visiting us for the first time, we hope you find something of interest. If you are a member of the group, a parent or other friend of the group, take the time to register to gain access to online resources such as chat forum, instant messaging, downloadable files etc. Use the menu system across the top to explore the wealth of information we have online.

We trust that through your exploration of this site, you will gain an appreciation of the valuable work conducted by the scouting movement. Enjoy your visit!

Congratulations to John and Cherie who got married on the 17th of December 2009. Cherie is a scout leader in the group and we wish her and her new husband all the best for the Future. The Scouts were on hand on the day to do a guard of honour and wish them all the best.

Venture Investiture 09

On the 4th of December the Venture Scouts travelled to the Carlingford Mountains to go on a night navigation hike. The non-stop heavy rain soon put an end to that so we decided to wait it out and have a bit of food. The next morning 4 new ventures were invested into the section: Seamus Hayes, Mark Kearney, Christopher O'Brien and Carrie Martin.

Congratulations to Barry and Marianne!

Congratulations to Cub and Beaver Leaders, Barry Cunningham and Marianne McEneaney, who got married on the 3rd October 2009. It was an inevitable event since they locked eyes across the room at a Venture Scout meeting back in the 90's. Good luck to you both in your life together.
