The group is fortunate to have it's own scout den located centrally in the town. Known as Aras na Gumann, the building was originally used as a boys secondary school, (the Patrician high school), before becoming a multi-purpose venue used by scouts, various community groups and a local history museum.
In 1992, the building was leased by the group for exclusive use and now hosts group meetings and events. The building has also recently become a training centre for Scouting Ireland courses and attracts scouters from all over the north east for training and other scouting events.
Accomodation comprises a cub room, scout room, beaver room, venturer room, toilets, a kitchen and a meeting room. Stores and outdoor storage space is also attached.
Plans are at an advanced stage for the acquisition of a campsite for the group.
