The Peak fundraiser this year sees all members embarking on the 'everest challenge' - an attempt to climb the equivalent height of mount everest on a special climbing wall to be set up at courthouse square as part of the Carrickmacross Festival on June 3rd.
The climbing wall has 6 climbing faces. 4 will be used exclusively by scouts undertaking the climbing challenge, the other two will be open to members of the public who, for a small fee, can have a go. The event will be fully supervised by section leaders as well as staff from the company supplying the wall.
The following is the rota for sections to attend the event;
10am -11am Beaver Monday Nights
11am-12pm Beaver Tuesday Nights
12pm-1pm Cubs Monday Nights
1pm -2pm Cubs Tuesday Nights
2pm-3pm Scouts Early meeting
3pm-4pm Scouts Late meeting
4pm-6pm Venturers
It is hoped that parents of beaver and cub sections might wait with their child and maybe have a go on the wall themselves! |
