It's hard to explain what Venturing is all about! This is because as a Venture you could end up doing almost anything- Imagination is your only limit! You can challenge yourself, try new things, acheive your goals and most importantly have a laugh with a group of like minded young people!

As a Venture you could find yourself trekking with a friend across some far off country on the Explorer Belt, or exploring the lesser known parts of Ireland on Challenge. You might decide to go along to Cairde or in a fit of maddess you might decide to try it all and really explore what Ventures has to offer you, but with all that's possible it might take you awhile to get around to everything!

We have a Strong venture section operating in the Group at the moment. Venture Scouts are a progression of  Scouts where the venture Scouts themselves take a greater responsibility for organising their own programme and they usually work towards an annual expedition or camp.

The Venture Scout Programme has a large social side to it and weekends are usually planned with this in mind.Venturer Units in the past have been a credit to the Group having run camps in Switzerland and New York as well as closr to home. We have 2 Venturers who have achieved  explorer Belts. Venturers are also a great training Ground for Leaders. 80% of our current leader group has come through from Venturing.  

3rd Monaghan Venturer group meets weekly at 7.30 on Thursdays.
