Over the Jamboree itself the Media including the TV Crews, Radio stations and National newspapers took a great interest in the Carrick group and their Site.

On the Monday morning Dean Jones was interviewed for Morning Ireland on RTE Radio 1, Alice Cunningham and scout leader Reggie Maggs where interview and featured in the Irish Times and Irish Independent see extract from newspaper below. Both John mc Menamin and Gareth Keenan were interviewed on the RTE Six One News on the Thursday of the camp. Jamie Thorthon and Eleanor Hand were interviewed live from site along with head of media for Jamboree 2008 Jimmy Cunningham on the Northern Sounds afternoon show on Wed. Also on the same day Eleanor, Jamie and Laura mc Daniel recorded and interview with RTE that will be played later on in Sept on a special night for Scouting Ireland more about this later on in the month. Also appearing on this is some of the Carrick Venturers transporting some gear on a trekcart. Adrian Murnaghan also acted and played a part in a kids TV show called Ice which can be seen on Den TV on RTE. Adrian played the part of a helper to Detective Blake Geneva and this will be go out later on in September. The piece that is going out on Sunday features a lot of the scouts lining up for flagbreak and includes some of the scout leaders raising the flags etc. All this was shot on the Carrickmacross site.

It was great to get some of the locals featured on the national media because Carrickmacross is the centre of Scouting for a long time and its great to see them feature on the national stage.
