Friday 28th Sept saw the scout section restart for the new scouting year. The hall was bursting at the seams with over 70 scouts there for the first night. That is the biggest scout troop we ever had in Carrickmacross and provides a great challenge to the team of scout leaders.

There was great excitment for the new cubs now moving into the scouts. The scouts waited for the announcements of the new patrol leaders and apls for the coming year. There were some surprises when the names were announced. The members and make up for each patrols were announced also. New names were also picked for patrol names as we have and extra 2 patrols this year 8 in total.

A great year of exciting programme awaits the scouts for this year starting with a overnight camp in a few weeks.
