There was a large turnout of parents at the recent Agm of the group. This was probably the biggest attendence that has ever attended and AGM of the group. This was a great boost for the leaders to see such a large turnout to support them in their work. A lot of important information was given on the night
 Section of the Crowd at Agm
Gerry Hand, our group Chairperson, welcomed the large turnout and thanked them for there attendance on what was such a bad night of weather. He proceeded to read the minutes of the last meeting in the abcence of our group secretary Peter Mee. These minutes were adopted.
 Chairperson Addressing The Meeting
Next Gerry give a run down of the plans agreed for the celebrations of 75 Years of scouting in Carrickmacross. He went on to say that the scouts in Carrick had come along way since 1932 and was delighted to be sitting in a wonderful scout den. He said that wasn't always the way it was. Plans for the celebrations include investure for the group on the 19th Nov with the Chief scout in attendance,Presentation night for leaders, Launch of Website, Fun day for members, Golf Classic and finishing with a major gala dinner next Nov. for all past members etc.
At this stage group leader Jimmy Cunningham give his report. The first part of the report was an audio visual slideshow showing the various activities the sections had taken part in. It gave an overall view of the different levels of activities that each of the sections take part in. It included all the annual camps.
 Group Leader Making His Report
The slideshow finished with the 2 rovers pictures of them having made it to everest high camp. This gave everyone there an idea of what can be achieved by each member. The group leader along with assistant group leader Liam Murray continued the report outlining items such as leader trainning, the building and equipment details etc.
In finishing his report the group leader thanked all the committe personal of both the group council and the parents and friends committee. He went on to say that the scouts of Carrickmacross were lucky to have such a young professional bunch of leaders whose committement to the members was 2nd to none.
Finally the group leader announced that this would be his final year serveing as group leader as he had 5 years done and was only allowed to do 6 years. He said that he would be slow to leave as he enjoys the job but he said there was a range of good candidates waiting in the wings to take over.
At this stage group treasurer Colm o Hagan give a very detailed and again audio visual report of the finances over the last year. He announced a rise in the registration fee which was brought around by the national fee been raised. He also said he was raising the dues by one euro to allow us to put away this money for our new campsite which should be all systems go this coming year.

Last to speak on the night was the chairperson of the Parents and friends support group Bernie Marron who detailed this years very exciting fundraising plans for the parents and friends. This included 2 fundraisers, The Annual auction and the Golf classic. He said the golf classic was a new event but one that should if done properly would go a long way to financing the bill for the new campsite.
He said that the contract to buy the campsite was going to be signed over the next 2 weeks and at that stage they would release all the details on the site costs etc. He requested names to help with the Auction and he got over 30 volunteers. He was pleased with this level of support.

The chairperson then led us through the various elections. The group council members were all re elected Chairperson Gerry Hand,Asst Chairperson Philip Mc Dermott Seterary Peter Mee, Treasurer Colm O Hagan.
The parents and friends picked 16 parents to serve on the parents and friends commitee and they will elect their exceutive at their first meeting.
The chairperson ended the meeting by stating that exciting times lay ahead for scouting over the next 12 months with the new campsite and the 75 years celebration. With that he brought the meeting to an end.
