Welcome to the 3rd Monaghan Scout Group Website.

Scouting in Carrickmacross celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2007 and today the group is stronger than ever. With over 200 youth members and almost 50 adult members, the group operates two beaver colonies, two cub packs, two scout groups, a venturer group and a rover group and is the 4th largest group in Scouting Ireland.

If you are visiting us for the first time, we hope you find something of interest. If you are a member of the group, a parent or other friend of the group, take the time to register to gain access to online resources such as chat forum, instant messaging, downloadable files etc. Use the menu system across the top to explore the wealth of information we have online.

We trust that through your exploration of this site, you will gain an appreciation of the valuable work conducted by the scouting movement. Enjoy your visit!

September Opening Dates

All scout sections start back week commencing 13th September. Beavers and Cubs are on Monday 13th & Tuesday 14th, 7.30 -9.00pm. Scouts are on Friday 7.00 - 8.30pm and 8.00- 9.30pm.

The group is significantly oversubscribed for new entrants to Beavers (7 year olds). Those that can be admitted from the waiting list will be contacted in the coming days.

There are places available in the scout section for both boys and girls (12-14 years). Those interested should drop in to the scout hall on Friday 17th at 8.00pm.

There are presently no places in Cubs (9-11) for new members due to natural progression from Beavers. However, if places become available in the coming weeks, we will contact those on the waiting list.

To get your child on the waiting list for entry in the future, please complete a membership application form available the membership section or from the scout hall.

Cub Parent & Child Camp 2010

The Cub Parent & Child camp brought our cub year to an end over the weekend of 11/12/13th June. Click on the PLAY button below to see some photos from the weekend.



Cubs camped out on Friday night and had a day full of activities on Saturday that included Rounders and Volleyball competitions as well as observation, pioneering and teamwork bases amoungst others.
